Thorsten, I agree with you. Quality of education does vary greatly from family to family for many reasons, including the ability of the parents to teach (whether formally educated or not — as you note, intelligence is not synonymous with educated. My mother is one of the smartest people I know and while she took different college classes, she does not have a degree.) As the title indicates, this article is only about my personal experience. I am not speaking for homeschooling as a whole. However, I do hope that by sharing my story with a broader audience that people will realize not all instances of homeschooling are “bad”. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
